Unreal Engine 4
Unreal Engine 4 (UE4) is the fourth-generation game engine developed by Epic Games. Development began in 2003 under Tim Sweeney’s direction, and the engine was publicly unveiled at GDC 2012. UE4 was officially released on March 19, 2014, with full C++ source access and a new subscription model.
Little Nightmares follows Six, a small, raincoat-clad child trapped in a mysterious underwater vessel called the Maw. The Maw is inhabited by grotesque, monstrous residents who prey on the helpless. As Six navigates through disturbing environments, she must solve puzzles and avoid being captured. The journey gradually reveals the dark and oppressive nature of the Maw and its inhabitants. Driven by hunger and desperation, Six’s actions ultimately reflect the cycle of predation within the world she inhabits.
